To improve knowledge of the characteristics of groundwater aquifers in Yukon through information from the development of groundwater wells. The registry was established in 2005 as a publically accessible groundwater database containing construction details and groundwater level information from water wells around Yukon. Some information is provided voluntarily, and some comes through the Rural Domestic Well Water Program, which requires reporting about well drilling through a Water Well Drillers Form.
